Borrowing Books - Cassette

The Library’s largest collection consists of audio books on cassette tapes. The containers are shelved by order of acquisition and are not intended to be browsed.

Our cassette books are recorded at a special slow speed and on four tracks. The Library provides a player that is loaned to you at no cost. The machines are maintained or replaced at no charge.

Books to satisfy every reading interest are available on cassette. We recommend that you have both a cassette machine and a digital player, so you can access the widest variety of materials. The Library will maintain its cassette collection for the foreseeable future.

You can use the on-line public access catalog (OPAC) to find and send yourself books, or you can work with your reader advisor to create a reading profile.
