The Iowa Department for the Blind is recruiting applicants for the following position:

Senior Services Specialist for the Blind 2

Administers computer system integrated with assistive technology for Departmental operations. Performs computer operations, software maintenance tasks, and network security functions in support of the Department's specialized data bases and network systems.

Must be able to demonstrate positive philosophy of blindness. Must possess in-depth knowledge of assistive technology, IT systems, network security, operation and backup, database operations, and related topics. Must possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

Education, Experience, and Special Requirements

Graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in technical writing, education, computer science, or related fields and experience equal to three years of full-time work in technology, education, computer science, engineering or a closely related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting the equivalent of one year of full-time work experience, outlined above, for each year of the required education to a maximum substitution of three years.

Salary range:

$44,366 - $67,517 annually, plus comprehensive benefit package
Pay Grade 29, Pay Plan 000

Hours: 

1:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m., Monday-Friday
