Examples of Gadgets and Gizmos to Get and Keep You Going

6:30 A.M. Your talking alarm tells you it's time to get up and greet the day. As you get ready for work, you step on your talking bathroom scale to check your weight. Great!  Those power walks with your talking pedometer are really paying off.  You then head to the kitchen to make your favorite pancakes for breakfast. You use your tactile measuring cups to measure the ingredients. You check your Braille watch and realize that you will have to hurry if you're going to get to the office on time. "Where did I put my white cane?"

8:00 A.M. The work day begins. You use your slate and stylus and talking electronic note taker to take the minutes at an important early-morning meeting. At your lunch break, you open your Braille address book to plan a get together for an evening of games with your friends.

7:00 P.M. You take your playing cards, checkers, cribbage, and other tactile games off the closet shelf and put them on the table. While waiting for your guests to arrive, you adjust a hemline using your folding 12 inch ruler and self-threading needles. "Oh, there goes the kitchen timer!" The dessert is ready, but where are your guests?
